IT Support Technician Job in Nicosia, Cyprus


Our client, a leading international bank seeks to employ an IT Support Technician for their Nicosia office. the ideal candidate will be fluent in English and have at least 3 years experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth running of systems by running periodic health checks on all systems and implementing policies for the junior members to adhere to
  • Ensure that all reported issues are addressed. Lead the team to log all incidents and ensure that the call escalation paths are followed. Periodically check the call queue and prioritise work. Perform root cause analysis and act on customer feedback to improve the quality of service
  • Develop policies and ensure they are followed. In particular ensure the backups are checked and act upon failures, ensure antivirus is updated and ensure that the team is following a standard hardened build process
  • Create and maintain a problem database with known issues and an FAQ/Wiki to assist both the users and support in resolving incidents
  • Manage and maintain the CMDB (configuration management database) so that all systems and hardware are accurately recorded along with support information
  • Design and implement solutions based on project requirements
  • Train and develop colleagues in the primary responsibility areas and ensure knowledge sharing. Empower the team and remove knowledge silos
  • Accept responsibility for support services and co-ordinate a smooth transfer to support of new projects. This includes rejecting new systems that have not fit for purpose or do not have supporting documentation and training
  • Constantly innovate and update skills.

Candidate Profile:

  • A BSc degree in Computer Science or other related field
  • Three-five years of experience working with mission critical networking systems
  • Very good knowledge of all Windows operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of networking and security
  • Ecellent knowledge of PCs and peripheral troubleshooting
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Certifications in some of the following areas: MCSE/MCIT, MCSA, CCNA, CCSA, VCP, Backups, Storage, Fiber channel, Networking, Windows2008+, Exchange, Cisco call manager, Lync, SQL, Citrix, SharePoint
  • Ability to accept ownership of systems and ensure best practice is followed
  • Strong ability to research and troubleshoot at the 3rd line level
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to build good rapport with other staff members across the organization and with external vendors
  • Ability to assimilate new technology and learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills.
